The new designs totally look more like the classic designs, right? Because the classic designs were filled with useless details, crystals and spikes, right?
No, the classic designs didn’t look like these crystal atrocities.

The new designs are terrible, IMO. They look busy and overdesigned. And filled with edges. I mean, “let’s add more dumb crystals everywhere” is a horrible design philosophy. Ryuho is the worst, he looks like an ugly Warrior God.
Umakoshi’s original designs were way better.

Parts of he Omega’s is changing for the second season. Umakoshi may stay (not confirmed) but the director is definitely different. Sources indicate that the new director will be Tetsuya Nagamine. Nagamine was the director of Heartcatch Precure and of the new and highly acclaimed One Piece movie (Film Z). The writer may also change from Reiko Yoshida to Yoshimi Narita but it’s also possible that it’s still Yoshida. Nagamine and Narita are both working on the first episode of the second season.
